They are both good, to us. Friends and family members didn't care for the flavors. They are used to drinking folders coffee. But I think it is fantastic, just more for me.lol

Well beyond our expectations in regard to flavor, mouthfeel and overall experience. We roasted in two full batches one a true medium roast and one as a medium dark roast. Both roasts exceeded our expectations and delivered great balanced flavor. While not surprising given Sunrise's selection process, both roasts were clean on the pallet and left a slightly sweet aftertaste, very little acidity/ bitterness. The mouthfeel was rich, and we were left wanting to drink cup after cup. We use a fluid bed roaster and sampled the coffee both with a Chemex pour over and through a Technivorm Moccamaster. Flavor wise we all found it true to its description and its depth of flavor complementing our breakfast including pancakes, maple syrup, scrambled eggs and bacon.

I have been roasting this coffee for a little while now. This coffee is excellent as both a pour over and an espresso. I’ve tried both medium and Full City + profiles and both are fantastastic!

This coffee as I open the bag and enjoyed the aroma of the green bean. I knew it was going to be good off roast incredible coffee squirted in 95 the flavor notes definitely a bunch of red fruit and honeysuckle on the end. Just a very well-rounded coffee I roasted this coffee at a medium roast.

First roast was very good. Just into second crack. Nice combination of the edgy sharpness (don’t know the geek term) I love about Peru with a little sweetness. Looking forward to more roasts. This was my first order from Sunrise Trading and I will order again.

I used a convection toaster oven. The coffee smells smoky, woody, chocolatey, and herbal, with some plums. The taste was an immediate toffee euphoria.

We bought Liz Colina's Washed Process coffee to replace a single farm Brazil Cerrado we use for a medium-dark roast as well as for cold brew. Sunrise made it easy to try their coffees with 1 lb. bags, which allowed plenty of sample roasting tests. We tried five different coffees this way (best value on shipping). The Liz Colina had a sweet, silky mouthfeel and layers of good flavor, so we ordered a pallet of 25kg sacks. The coffee was delivered in beautiful jute sacks with GrainPro liners. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the coffee inside, as well as the uniformity of the beans.

We easily dialed in a good roast profile for production. The beans do seem to require more energy than normal during the middle stages of the roast, which is needed to keep temp on target after First Crack.

These beans really shine as a medium-dark roast, and a little longer development time helps bring out their full body. Anything from a light-medium to a medium-dark should work well for this coffee.

Customer response to the Liz Colina Washed has been really good. The aroma of the beans draws people in and the taste satisfies a wide range of coffee drinkers. We really like how this bean performs for cold brew, as do our customers.

All in all we’re very pleased with the coffee and our first experience buying from Sunrise Trading. The coffee has been working very well for us, Sunrise is easy to work with, and the customer service has been first rate. Looking forward to additional purchases in the future.

A very clean smooth cup of coffee with Cocoa & Walnut notes. A versatile and easy roasting bean. Great aroma when grinding and drinking.

I roast my coffee on a Skywalker coffee roaster. This batch was roasted outdoors on my covered patio on a cold evening in January 2025. I roasted it to a medium to dark level and after letting it degas for four days, I enjoyed my 1st cup this morning and let me be honest, it was really good! I could definitely taste the hint of apple and cherry along with molasses and a little bit of vanilla. It was surprisingly crisp and refined, even delicate. My 1st cup was through the Aeropress which I find reveals the more subtle notes. My 2nd cup was through the espresso machine where it became more bold yet maintained its refined, clean, full bodied characteristics. I continue to be impressed with the balance and subtlety of Peruvian coffees and I’m thoroughly enjoying my coffee journeys there.

Roasted to a medium dark Daniel Lale’s Honey processed coffee is perfectly balanced and roasts beautifully. As far as taste goes, it is sweet, while not overwhelmingly so. It is nutty with hints of milk chocolate, and black tea. It’s a fantastic standalone coffee, especially when brewed through the Aeropress but it is also very good through my espresso machine. Additionally, it has become one of my favorite blends when paired with the washed/wet processed coffee of the same name. I have found that a 60/40 blend makes a great cup (blended after roasting independently, of course). Peru truly produces some of the best coffees on earth and Sunrise Trading Co. has quickly become my go to source for Peruvian coffee.

Roasted to a dark level, this was the best natural process coffee I’ve ever had! I admit I have a thing for natural processed coffee, but some is just downright funky, overly sweet tasting like ripe bananas and prunes. A hint of which is to be expected but too much is just too much. Sunrise’s natural process is perfectly balanced with the sweet taste that I love without the funkiness that I don’t. I usually use natural processed coffee in blends due to the overwhelming sweetness, and funk, but this natural process is just so good as a standalone that I find myself going back to it on at least a weekly basis. I highly recommend!
