Chontabamba, Perú – November 6, 2023 – Our devotion to the cycle of life extends beyond the coffee bean; it reaches into the very heart of the communities that nurture our prized harvests. On this day, from our base in Chontabamba, we had the honor of participating in a vital mission of community support.

This delivery of medical supplies was facilitated by members of our Sunrise Trading family who are both cultivators and full-time staff, including Eliana Ruiz, the wife of cultivator Don Leopoldo Velita. Their personal connection to the community made this delivery a truly heartfelt effort, bringing resources directly to the people they call neighbors.

A Lifeline for a Village of 500

Chontabamba, a close-knit community of about 500 people, faces significant challenges in accessing healthcare. The local posta de salud, or medical outpost, serves as the sole medical facility in the area. This delivery, made possible with the support of Project C.U.R.E., of trauma kits and suture kits, will significantly improve the community's capacity for essential medical care.
